ABU ADB ALLAH IBN HUDHAY -AL-AZRAQ- THE BLUE.
Its origins are located north of Arabia, Syria or Iraq, since its tribe (hudhay), like Abderramán (the Umayyads) came from those territories.
His birth is estimated more or less, by 1280. Descendant of a noble family, educated in the Arab culture and in the art of war as they demanded in their times.
He was knowledgeable of several languages; He had his kingdom of taifas being governor or vizier of numerous castles north of Alicante and his seat in the castle of AL-QAL-A.
It brought in check the invading Christians in defense of their lands and their ancestors, until they could not resist.
He signed a treaty with King James I in 1250, protecting all its inhabitants through it.
Faced with the constant non-compliance of treaties, by the Christians, I return, although already older, dying in combat at the gates of AL-CORA, currently (Alcoy), in 1278.
This is a tribute to our ancestors, who until their total expulsion, around 1620, populated our valleys and mountains, leaving us their customs, their houses, their towns and names: Al-Mudaina, Al-cora, Al-fafar, Beni-alfaqui , Beni-salem, Al-patro, Beni-sili, Raduan, Abad, Bennasar, Ali-cantara and many others.
Here they were born as AL-AZRAQ, descendants of more than one hundred generations and eight hundred years of permanence, which we must respect and even thank.
